The civil ceremony
is the simplest, most immediate and direct of all the wedding ceremonies.
The civil ceremony is usually attended by the bride, the groom, and a
minister or officiant, along with the legally required witnesses if any
are needed. The ceremony includes a brief form of the convocation, the
vows, exchanging of the rings, and the pronouncement. It is usually short;
however, it is very meaningful. It is a special time when the two people unite in marriage, which is an institution ordained by the state and made honorable by the faithful keeping of men and women in all time. It is not to be entered into lightly or unadvisedly. It is however to be lovely, and a joy to the heart. |
